Cap Koad
Bring a historic building back to life with a decorative fresco? This is a mission for the painters of La Crémerie.
The Cap Koad shopping center, recently established in Dol-de-Bretagne, called on our collective of mural painters to create a monumental fresco on the facade of a commercial unit.
This ambitious project aimed to introduce urban art into this dynamic commercial space, while offering a high-visibility platform to local artists. By integrating art into the heart of everyday life, Cap Koad wanted to pay tribute to creativity and local culture, while transforming the appearance of its premises.
For this project, we were given carte blanche, which allowed us to give free rein to our imagination. We opted for a visual that was both dynamic and universal, merging abstraction and figurative in a colorful and lively atmosphere. This visual combination, balanced between these two styles, aims to captivate visitors while evoking a certain creative freedom. The use of pastel colors served to reinforce the abstract aspect of the work, while highlighting the central figure of the fresco: a monumental zebra.
The zebra, graphically treated in black and white, stands out naturally against the abstract pastel background. By choosing this emblematic animal, we wanted to represent wild nature in the heart of an urban setting, evoking the dialogue between wild freedom and modern architectural structures.

The completion of this fresco took a week, during which we had to deal with various climatic hazards. Despite these challenges, the welcome we received from the Cap Koad teams was exceptional. The official inauguration of the shopping center was a great opportunity to meet the local artists who collaborated on this project, thus strengthening the links between the different artistic communities in the region. The event highlighted the importance of urban art in enhancing commercial and public spaces.
This project was a real success for our collective, both on a technical and human level. Beyond the artistic aspects, this adventure was enriching in terms of meetings and exchanges.
We are eager to embark on new collaborations, always in the spirit of merging art and public space to offer unique and inspiring visual experiences.
