CMA Formation
In July 2025, the Centre for Trades and Crafts (CMA Formation) in Saint-Malo commissioned the Rennes-based team at La Crémerie to create a colorful and modern mural. The goal: to showcase the trades and adorn the walls of the training center with a creation that reflects its students—dynamic, positive, and proud of their skills.
Each year, CMA Formation supports hundreds of apprentices and professionals on their journey toward skilled trades and passions. From bakers to hairdressers, mechanics to painters, the institution trains the artisans of tomorrow, fostering a spirit of knowledge transfer and excellence.
For this mural, the artists of La Crémerie chose to depict several emblematic figures: a bicycle repairman, a baker, a hairdresser, a painter, a pastry chef, and an industrial repairman. This gallery of portraits illustrates the diversity and complementarity of the skills brought together at CMA. The work is rendered in a comics-graffiti style, blending bold lines, expressive characters, and dynamic typography.

Technically, the mural began with a white undercoat, ensuring durability and a uniform base. The rest of the work was then completed using spray paint.
The colors—burgundy, red, orange, and off-white—reflect the CMA's graphic identity, with gray and black contrasts to enhance the overall depth and modern feel.
This project is part of La Crémerie's ongoing work, which regularly collaborates with Breton institutions and businesses to enhance their spaces through artistic creation. It's a way of reminding everyone that graffiti, far from being a stereotype, has its rightful place in learning and living spaces.
