Garage Jeanne d'Arc
This fresco is the result of a meeting, in fact, it was while carrying out our project on the fence at the Joliot Curie metro station that we met the owners of Garage Jeanne d'Arc, our work applied to the corrugated sheet metal called out, and the idea of an intervention among them germinated. This meeting was the start of a beautiful artistic adventure.
The automobile theme was at the heart of this creation, but we had carte blanche to imagine a graphic universe in harmony with the place. We chose to mix classic graffiti lettering with a broader scene, taking care to anchor the fresco in its environment.
For this fresco, the colors were carefully selected in order to respect the desired chromatic atmosphere, inspired by American comics from the 80s. The visual, tinged with nostalgia, features a Renault 5 Turbo, an emblematic model dear to the owners of the garage.
Traditional graffiti lettering was placed on the corrugated metal wall, playing the trompe-l'oeil game by placing itself in the background. Certain personal details, such as the sticker representing Bounty, the company mascot, or the car license plate, have also been added to personalize the whole thing.
This fresco quickly established itself as a visual landmark of the neighborhood, allowing the garage to be located while beautifying the urban landscape. It brings joy to local residents and parking users, becoming a real part of local life.
